Raag Deshkar is similar to Raag Bhoopali but it is different in the way it is sung. The important note here is Shuddha Dhaivat, which is very strong in Deshkar. Pancham is prominent in Aalap and Aalap ends with Pancham. In Raag Deshkar, Dhaivat-Gandhar Sangati is important and Rishabh is Alp in Avroh. The Nyas Swar is Pancham. This Raag belongs to Bilawal Thaat. This is a Uttarang Pradhan Raag and can be expanded in Madhya and Tar Saptaks. Combination of notes coupled with the Vakrata facet help in proper description of this Raag as illustrated here:-
